Our Marooloo Counselling Service provides support to children and young people between the ages of 5-25, and their families, who have been impacted or are at risk of trauma and abuse. Support may include case management, advocacy, safety planning and trauma-informed psychotherapy for individuals or groups. Here, you will provide high quality and comprehensive strengths based case management services to children and young people who have been impacted by or experiencing family, domestic and sexual violence in the West Kimberley.  

This is a part time (0.5 FTE - 37.5 hours per fortnight), max term opportunity until 30 June 2025, based in Derby, WA.

What you will bring

You will bring your patient and empathetic nature alongside experience in delivering person centred, trauma informed case management services that are culturally appropriate. Additionally you will have:

  • Demonstrated behaviour management, conflict resolution, advocacy and negotiation skills
  • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with ‘at risk’ children, young people and their families
  • Case management and assessment skills
  • Ability to accept,  respect and work with young people:
    o    from a broad range of backgrounds and abilities
    o    from different cultures, particularly with Aboriginal & CaLD young people
    o    who may identify as LGBTQIA+
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be innovative and flexible, work independently, use initiative and work effectively under pressure

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within 12 months, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.

 Benefits

  • Salary starts at $92,400 (pro rata) + 11.5% superannuation
