Anglicare WA’s Refuge service provides 24/7 outreach and accommodation support for single women and women with children who are experiencing Family and Domestic Violence.  Implementing a case management model Anglicare WA’s Refuge service provides support to clients though safety planning and risk assessment, advocacy, referral to specialist services, goal setting, future planning, and personalised supports to enable them to secure safe accommodation.

Join us in this brand-new traineeship role at Albany Women's Centre!  You will have the opportunity to be supervised, developed and trained whilst completing your Cert III or Cert IV in Community Services.

As the Trainee Residential Worker, you will deliver a person-centred service to clients accessing the residential refuge accommodation by providing practical support to ensure day to day needs are met, including room checks, cleaning, maintenance and auditing of supplies and linen. You will also assist with transport of clients to appointments and children to school drops offs, as required.   Working alongside the passionate and dedicated Refuge team, you will participate in case management/review meetings and residential meetings to ensure quality service delivery and adherence to program standards.   

There are 4 x part time trainee opportunities available, working approximately 22 hours per week.    The successful candidate must be available on weekdays for either Morning shifts (6.30am - 12.30pm), Day shifts (8.30am -4.30pm) or Evening shifts (1.30- 8.30pm). This is a maximum term contract until 30 June 2026.

You will have:

  • Willingness to complete a Certificate III or IV in Community Services within the contract timeframe 
  • Ability to effectively manage workload, set priorities and work flexibly
  • Excellent interpersonal communication
  • Ability to articulate and reflect upon personal and professional values 
  • Ability to be innovative, flexible, work independently, demonstrate initiative and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, multidisciplinary, teamwork setting.

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Driver's Licence. 

Benefits

  • $72,829 - $74,916 salary range per annum + 11.5% superannuation
  • In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum and not pay tax on that amount.
  • Additional 3 days (pro-rata) leave per year and ability to purchase additional leave
