As the Sunshine Community Builder, you will work with families finding themselves in vulnerable times and coach and support them to reach their good life goals. You will work alongside the Sunshine Family Coach and in partnerships with participating Sunshine families deliver a range of projects that will build capacity, create purpose, enable healing and inspire connection to the local community. You will also partner with the Home Interaction Program for Parents of Youngsters (HIPPY) and assist families to remain focused and engaged in their children's education, development and overall wellbeing. 

This is a max term part time contract until June 2025, working 18.75 hrs per week based in Kalgoorlie.

What you will bring!

To achieve success in this role you will have:

  • Qualifications in community development, event management and/or demonstrated work experience
  • Experience in delivering community development, events and/or community building projects
  • Have knowledge about local community groups, services, networks and themes of importance to locals
  • Skills in creating and delivering engaging presentations and facilitating group sessions
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex issues facing people who experience challenging life circumstances such as homelessness, AOD use, family/domestic violence and mental health issues.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity and social inclusion- including gender, sexuality, disability, cultural and linguistic diversity and Aboriginal culture
  • Experience in supporting a positive team environment within a collaborative approach
  • Well developed written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, WA Working with Children Check and WA Drivers Licence.
