Our headspace Karratha team provides a high quality, early intervention, community-focused response for young people and their families experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues that are affecting their wellbeing.
As Service Support Officer, you will be the front face of the headspace centre, providing a range of reception services including meeting and greeting of visitors and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for visitors to the centre. You are a people person and will be able to build genuine rapport with young people, their families and friends. You will provide day to day to support to the operations of the centre and the broader headspace Pilbara team, including managing phone calls and emails, distributing information about the service, scheduling appointments for young people and maintaining waiting lists. You will also support the delivery of community and centre-based events. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where every day is different!
This is a part-time (22.5 hours per week) permanent position, based in Karratha. Working hours are Monday - Thursday 1:30-6pm and Friday 12:30-5pm.
What you will bring!
You are a passionate and talented individual who wants to be part of a team who delivers quality services to our clients. To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in an administration or reception role, with experience in a community services organisation, health related or service organisation highly desirable
- Exceptional communication skills with an ability to relate to a wide range of clients in need of assistance
- Ability to respond to clients in distress, and be comfortable deescalating people who are upset
- Well-developed computer skills (MS Word, MS Outlook, client management system)
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year and WA Working with Children Check.

Remuneration and benefits
- Starting salary of $80,111 per annum (inclusive of 10% remote localities allowance), pro rata for hours worked + 11.5% super
- Tax-free salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 per annum
- Generous rent subsidy and electricity allowance available (eligibility criteria apply)
