Join our Young Parents Support program where you will foster healthy attachment between young parents and their children using a person-centred case management approach. You will provide parenting and child development information, informal counselling, practical support, home visiting, advocacy and follow up supports for ‘at risk’ pregnant and parenting young people. You will foster connection to the community by facilitating and participating in community engagement and education activities psychosocial groups. You will support safety by undertaking risks assessments and safety planning as required. caregiver. This is a part time (0.8 FTE), permanent opportunity and includes an outreach competent. There is capacity to work 5 days (Monday-Friday) until 30 June 2025, then working 4 days, Monday to Thursday, from 1 July onwards, 

The successful candidate must have their own vehicle and be willing to use it to complete the outreach. Any mileage will be reimbursed. 

Desired Skills and Experience

What you will bring

You will bring your patient and empathetic nature alongside experience in delivering person centred, trauma informed case management services that are culturally appropriate. Additionally you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Youth Work, Human Services, Counselling or Psychology
  • Demonstrated experience working with young people including case management and assessment skills, and delivery of group programs
  • A thorough understanding of the barriers and difficulties facing ‘at risk’ young people and the community resources available to them
  • Ability to assess risk and safety plan
  • Ability to be innovative and flexible, work independently, use initiative and work effectively under pressure

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within 12 months, a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.

  • Salary starts at $84,000 per annum pro rata + 11.5% superannuation
