The Pilbara Wellbeing Program provides an holistic, early intervention emotional wellbeing service for children and young people aged 8 – 13 years-old. The program delivers low intensity clinical interventions, practical supports and community engagement opportunities to increase the resilience, mental health literacy and wellbeing of children, young people and families through an individual, community and family system-based approach. The program offers holistic, flexible wrap-around support from the first point of contact, including family and caregiver support.
The Community Engagement Worker connects with children, young people, families and community through the development and implementation of a range of engagement activities including outreach, events and workshops with a focus on building awareness of the program within the community, providing psychoeducation and removing barriers to accessing supports for wellbeing. The Community Engagement Worker will also provide some brief intervention support and case management and encourage positive help-seeking behaviours.
In addition, this role will build strong relationships with sector networks and other local agencies and community groups to support better outcomes for the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people, families and the community.
What you will bring
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in youth, family or community engagement and outreach
- Demonstrated experience in creating and delivering group programs, events and psychoeducational presentations
- Demonstrated skills in assessment and triage to appropriately manage clients at risk of harm
- Experience working in mental health practice settings, or a demonstrated capacity to develop these skills
- Experience building strong relationships and collaborating with stakeholder and agency networks
- Demonstrated knowledge of the mental health and community services sector
- Capacity to work in a trauma informed and culturally secure way
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and WA Drivers License.

- From $92.399 full time salary (includes 10% remote allowance) + 11.5% superannuation.
