Anglicare WA is seeking a dedicated Early Intervention Social Support Worker to join our team. This full-time contract position, based at Legal Aid's head office in central Perth, working alongside the Legal Aid WA Infoline practitioners. The Early Intervention Social Support (EISS) Service provides specialist, expert advocacy, referral and support services to families and individuals accessing Legal Aid WA’s Early Intervention Services.

As an Early Intervention Social Support Worker at Anglicare WA, you will be based in Legal Aid's head office

  • Reports directly to the Coordinator Family Law Services in East Perth 

  • Works alongside Legal Aid WA InfoLine team and the broader EIS Directorate 

  • Works closely with Legal Aid Duty Lawyers and other legal staff. 

Desired Skills and Experience

What you will bring

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline
  • Significant demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred approaches to working with families with complex needs (minimum 2 years)
  • Informed knowledge of safety issues in relation to family and domestic violence and experience working with both perpetrators and survivors 
  • Knowledge of culturally appropriate service delivery including ATSI, CALD and LGBTIQ+ families 
  • Well demonstrated conflict resolution, advocacy and negotiation skills 

The successful candidate will possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check and hold a WA Drivers Licence.
