Job Description

About the role

Anglicare WA Bridges Disability Support Service provides individualised support to people with a disability, with the aim that each person can achieve the best life possible. We work alongside the people we support, their family and/or caregivers, allied health professionals and other community groups to deliver a high-quality service.

In this rewarding role, you’ll help ensure our services are delivered with excellence and truly reflect the goals and aspirations of the people we support. You’ll play a key part in rostering and planning leave coverage, making sure our team is always ready to provide consistent, high-quality care. You’ll also be hands-on in recruitment, induction, and training—setting our Support Workers up for success from day one. Working closely with the Area Coordinator, you’ll champion person-centered service delivery that meets all relevant standards and regulations, while staying aligned with the strategic direction of Anglicare WA.

This is a part time role (22.5 hours per week), working Monday - Fridays.  There will also be a requirement to be available for additional hours during the week for Support Worker shift coverage.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

You will have a good understanding of person-centered practice and are passionate about supporting people with a disability.  To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Cert IV In Disability/Human Services and/or relevant leadership experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of and the ability to apply the objects and principles of the National Disability Insurance Scheme
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of workplace safety and health laws and requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in rostering
  • Ability to be innovative and flexible, work collaboratively, motivate staff and work effectively under pressure when required
  • Experiencing providing mental health supports (desirable)

You must possess a current NDIS Worker Screen Check, National Police Clearance valid within one year, a Provide First Aid Certificate and a WA Drivers Licence.

A police record is not an automatic barrier to employment with us. We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and we review any disclosures on an individual basis, focusing on relevance to the role.

Impact and benefits

Sharing your knowledge, skills and experience, you will make an impact to the lives of families and communities across the state.

In return for your drive and commitment, we provide the support of an inclusive and welcoming community which places people at the heart of all the work we do and encourages broad thinking, curiosity, creativity and best practice.

Also:-

  • A competitive salary from $86,950 per annum (pro rata) + 12% superannuation
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses
  • Additional 3 days leave per year over festive period
