The Integrated Primary Mental Health Care (IPMHC) Program offers stepped-care mental health and wellbeing support for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, providing therapeutic interventions, psychoeducation, and coordinated clinical care.
The Wellbeing Worker plays a vital role in early intervention and short-term, structured support for people experiencing challenges in their mental health, providing holistic, person centred psychoeducation and therapeutic interventions. Working in a trauma-informed and culturally safe way, this role helps people cope with life’s challenges, build skills for wellbeing and learn practical strategies that strengthen emotional health and wellbeing.
This is full-time (37.5 hours per week) ongoing opportunity, based in South Hedland.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience delivering evidence-based support for people with mild to moderate mental health needs in clinical or community settings.
- Strong skills in intake, assessment, brief interventions, and accurate, timely documentation.
- Ability to co-design person-centred, recovery-focused plans and work within a stepped-care model.
- Confidence working collaboratively across services and facilitating groups or community-based activities.
- Skills in supporting people at risk, including those impacted by suicide and family and domestic violence.
- Understanding of mental health systems, trauma-informed practice, and primary care pathways in WA.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness and capacity to work in a culturally safe, respectful way with Aboriginal people and communities
- Clear, empathetic communicator who values reflective practice, continuous learning, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
This role requires a current (or willingness to obtain) National Police Clearance. A police record is not an automatic barrier to employment with us. The successful candidate must also possess a current WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.

- From $109,400 full time base salary (includes 10% remote allowance) + 12% superannuation.
