As the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, you will walk compassionately and respectfully alongside families. You will aim to provide alternatives to formal legal processes for families who want to improve their family relationships, to prevent separation and to support parents to make arrangements in the best interests of their children after separation. You will assist families with parenting and property matters and will be capable of working with families with complex needs, including those with family violence issues.  Anglicare WA takes a therapeutic and child inclusive approach in assisting families through separation. 

This contract opportunity, based in Mandurah until 30 June 2026, is offered on a maximum-term, part-time or casual basis (22.5 hours per week). Wednesdays and Thursdays are required workdays, with occasional late shifts on Thursdays (11:00am–7:00pm). The role offers flexible arrangements, allowing for hybrid or remote delivery of FDR parenting and property mediations.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

Essential criteria to be successful in this role:                         

  • Hold a Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution, or be very near completion
  • Have knowledge and experience in Family Dispute Resolution, Property Mediation, counselling and Child Inclusive Practice
  • Hold tertiary qualification Degree in Social Science, Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Law or related field
  • Have knowledge of the effects of trauma and domestic violence on families, children and young people
  • Have previous counselling experience with individuals, couples and families
  • Have the ability to manage a complex caseload

This role requires a current (or willingness to obtain) National Police Clearance. A police record is not an automatic barrier to employment with us. The successful candidate must also possess a WA Working with Children Card and a WA Drivers Licence.

Also:-

  • From $99,460 per year (pro-rata at $51/hour) + 2.5% specified program allowance + 12% superannuation.
  • Full-time employees are entitled to salary packaging benefits, annual leave, and personal leave.
  • Casual employees only receive a 25% casual loading in lieu of leave entitlements.
  • Generous tax-free salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 annually (not applicable for casual employment)
