The Specialised Family Violence Services (SFVS) program is part of Anglicare WA’s Family and Relationship Services (FaRS). Aligned with the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children, SFVS works to create safer communities where women, children, and families can live free from violence. The program provides compassionate, evidence‑based counselling and support to individuals, couples, children, and families affected by family and domestic violence
Join a passionate team dedicated to empowering families, couples, and children affected by family and domestic violence. As a Counsellor, you’ll provide trauma‑informed, person‑centred support that strengthens relationships, promotes safety and wellbeing, and fosters positive change through counselling, education, and community partnerships.
This is a permanent, part-time (22.5 hours) opportunity based in Joondalup.
What you will bring
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Social Science, or a related field
- Experience providing family and domestic violence counselling to children and adults
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and rapport‑building skills
- Person‑centred, strength‑based, and trauma‑informed approach to practice
- Skilled in facilitating groups and educational programs
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of best practice, current theories, and trends in family and domestic violence counselling
This role requires a current (or willingness to obtain) National Police Clearance. A police record is not an automatic barrier to employment with us. We welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences, and we review any disclosures on an individual basis, focusing on relevance to the role. The successful candidate must also possess a current WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.

- From $ $ 99,469.50 (pro-rata) + 12% superannuation
- Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses
