About you

As the Family and Domestic Violence Advocate at Anglicare WA, you will:

  • Walk alongside women, children, and families impacted by family and domestic violence on their journey to safety and healing.
  • Provide compassionate advocacy, safety planning, and practical support tailored to each family’s needs.
  • Build strong local partnerships in Derby to connect clients with housing, health, legal, and community services.
  • Promote culturally safe, trauma-informed, and person-centred care in every interaction.

This is a max term full-time (37.5 hours per week) contract until 30 June 2028.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you will bring

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Deep understanding of Aboriginal culture, community history, and local networks across Derby and the Kimberley.
  • Experienced in engaging and building trust with women, children, and families impacted by family and domestic violence.
  • Skilled in providing person-centred, trauma-informed case management and advocacy for short- and long-term support.
  • Experienced in working respectfully with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and culturally and linguistically diverse families.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work both independently and in a team.

This role requires a current (or willingness to obtain) National Police Clearance. A police record is not an automatic barrier to employment with us.

  • From $95,645 full time salary (includes 10% remote allowance) + 12% superannuation.
  • Weekly housing subsidy of $250/week (T & C’s apply)
  • Generous tax-free salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 annually
  • Electricity and airfare allowance.
  • Additional 1 weeks leave after 12 months service
  • 3 days additional leave between Christmas and New Year
