As the Rent Relief Triage Worker, you will work as part of the state wide team and program which aims to reduce housing vulnerability by providing financial assistance and supports to households in WA's private rental sector who are experiencing rent stress or severe hardship, particularly those at risk of eviction. You will answer calls from our clients enquiring about the Rent Relief program, conduct over the phone eligibility assessments and will connect them to financial counsellors and housing support workers who will complete the rent relief application and provide ongoing support. 

This is a part time (0.8 FTE - 30 hours per week) max term opportunity ending 30 June 2027. The successful candidate will be based in Armadale.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous phone-based contact centre experience
  • Experience working in a team and dealing with clients who are experiencing hardship Solid numeracy skills
  • Well demonstrated capacity to work with IT systems
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills
  • Openness to change and ability to seek creative solutions
  • Desirable Experience in promoting positive engagement with a wide range of clients, including persons from an Aboriginal and culturally and linguistically diverse background
  • Knowledge of the range of service provision within the human services sector
  • Ability to operate a data collection system.

The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year.
