The Employment and Education Pathways Worker supports young people living at Foyer Oxford by utilising creative strategies to assist the young people to connect with employment, education and training opportunities. The role supports Case Managers, Drug Education and Support Workers and young people to develop education, employment and training opportunities and connections within the local community to enhance longer term education, employment and training participation.

This is a part time (30 hours per week) permanent role, working Monday to Friday.

What you bring

You are an experienced youth worker looking to join a high performing team. You are passionate about delivering quality supports incorporating approaches that are person centred, strengths based and trauma informed. 

To achieve success in the role you will have:

  • A diploma or tertiary level qualification in Youth Work, Social Work or an employment and education related discipline
  • Experience in building strong partnerships with employers, employment pathways and/or training stakeholders,
  • Knowledge of issues and trends in the employment, education and training sectors,
  • Ability to engage and build strong relationships with and motivate young people ‘at risk’ of employment and/or employment disengagement,
  • Ability to work as part of a team,
  • Ability to initiate and create opportunities, anticipate possible problems, work independently and be innovative and flexible,
  • High level of interpersonal and negotiation skills with an ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders with the capacity to build rapport and motivation,
  • Experience in working with young people from diverse backgrounds and/or experience in a relevant community setting

The successful candidate must also possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a valid Working with Children Check, and a WA Drivers Licence.

  • A competitive salary from $84,000 per annum + 11.5% superannuation (pro rata)
  • Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses 
  • Additional 3 days leave per year over festive period
